ok so my 1.2 merit sometimes hesitates to turn off after turning the key, especially when warm

probably been covered multiple times but what could it be?

Ignition timing

As above it's probably advanced too much on the distributor, turn it towards you a little. You may have to turn the idle screw up a little on your carb though to compensate.

Do this when the engines warm btw but don't turn the dizzy too much as when the engines cold it may struggle starting up.

Is there any guides or how to do it? If im being honest I havent had to do it before but would like to see an explanation on what to do

Without a timeing light your only option is to scratch a line across the joint from dizzy to cam housing to mark were it is now , losen the dizzy and tap it backwards a little see if that's better if worse tap it forward of your marks and try that do this with it running if you can as you will here the engine change sound then of and on again till it stops doing it

Bear in mind peoples ideas on 'a bit' can be mis-interpreted. Ign timing is very precise & you literally want to be making the smallest adjustments possible.
Read the Haynes manual chapter on ign timing to understand more (or google it for some light reading)
