my bird is looking to replace her fiesta now as we have been running ot for a while and she is bored and wants a upgraded/newer car

she really likes these corsas clicky (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201405043918408/sort/default/usedcars/postcode/de249eq/price-from/3500/make/vauxhall/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/colour/grey/radius/1500/price-to/5000/page/1/model/corsa?logcode=p)

anyone know what they are like to live with. service. repair and running prices etc.... common faults

the fiesta has been brilliant, never broken down altho it seems slightly juicy for a 1400 but not excessive! drives really nice and sits lovely at motorway speeds. so don't want anything that's going to cause hassle or be rubbish on the motorway (my main concern with it being such a small engine car). they seem to be fairly well specked for how cheap you can pick them up.

thanks for any help/advice in advance :D

rattly engines is usually the cam chain on those 1.2's

Thought that was more the Corsa C.

They are a nice car but very heavy for a 1.2 so they need a bit of winding up to get anywhere fast. A 1.4 or 1.3CDTi would be better.

Same engine as the c, crap engine. Best small engine for them is the 1.3 derv witch is pretty lively for what it is. They drive ok but feel bigger than they are witch I'm not sure is a good thing? Btw I only drive corsa vans not cars so can't comment in interior really

my bird would like that. when she went from the corsa b to the mk6 fiesta she was saying how it felt bigger and made her fell safe :/

Hate to say it but what about a Polo? My Mother-In-Law has an 05 plate 1.2 3 cylinder and it goes really well. I got it for her when in was PX'd at work about 4 years ago and it has been faultless.

what years that current fiesta ?
if its a mk.4, (1996-2000 ish) age, with a 1.4 zetec engine in, id keep it. save your mrs a couple grand.

they are dead boring like your mrs says, but ive owned one, and it was a fairly decent car i thought. barely cost me anything in repairs, just the usual service parts in the 18 months i owned it. i think the anti roll bar links is there main weakness, but there an easy fix once every 2 years.

Had 4 for work 2 1.poos and 2 1.3 diesels the 1.2 is a bit underpowered and the coil packs tend to pack up, 1.3s I never had a problem with, had a 1.4 tdci fiesta after the corsas and it pains me to say this was a much better car better handing and only has a strut top in 100k

I managed to outrun one of them in my 1200 nova! They are very heavy.

My Mrs had one in 3 door and she had it 6 months and was bored with how slow it was, it really is extremely slow on the 1.2
Shes now upgraded to the astra 1.6 and much happier

She admitted to me the other day she would be very pleased with an American muscle car or similar sort of V8. Don't consult her though, just go buy it.

My sister actually has one of these, 1.2 16v SXi. Its erm, well ok. Does its job but slow & not overly entertaining but yeah, its a car.

Has 5 wheels, an inside & also amazingly an outside.

Mrs Mike has an Astra 1.6 aswell (Astra H/Mk5? The VXR shape one?!) , decent car. Terrible on the motorway we've found tho, chronic back ache after about 2 hours driving. Will be selling it soon if you want it, 2005 3 door model with 77k

You'd want a Nova if that was the question surely.
