sounds like there might be a wee stone inside my rear silencer piece of the exhaust, or maybe the baffles are starting to eat themselves internally, and rattling ?

the noise stops if i block the tail pipe with my hand.
not sure if it does it at high rpm, as i can only hear it on idle.

would a good 'ol ragging blow it out, if it were a stone ?

thats one other possiblility i thought it might be, it may have rotted away.
its has a wrap-around steel strap, that looks pretty corroded, so maybe.
i need to get down under there with a torch and have a poke about to confirm.
if not, i bet its the baffles, like you guys say.
cheers all. :)
