car hesitating to cut out when switched off with key?

My 1200 nova sometimes doesnt want to stop when I turn the key to turn it off

probably a common problem and im sure many people will be able to help me

What could it be?

mine does exactly this, not sure why...
it was cutting out everytime i came to a stop even when warmed up. fiddled about with the idling speed, cured the cutting out business and now it idles a lot quicker but that could be the reason it doesn't want to turn off..? :tard:

You need to retard the timing lol it's called pre ignition adjust the dizzy slightly and it should sort it out
