Before you throw it try solvent pipe cleaner, it's used to remove grease etc off pipe prior to gluing. Or maybe nail polish remover and try a bit on the inside first?

Think that would be a good shout using a soft brush to get into the ripples.

My only worry maybe would be if it stained/discoloured the plastic. Probably best to try on the inside of the bumper first in case it stains.

Have they not been painted? Looks like the paints peeling on the left, so that might be a primer with something in it...

FYI^ if they are to far gone that wont help, gently warm with a heat gun first to see if the oil comes back to the surface first, if it does then do the bumper then put that on, helps feel the oils in the plastic.

Right, may be looking at a new bumper in that case

My saloon bumpers were similar, they had years of bumper shine on them which made the dirt stick into them. I had to use a heavy duty degreaser to shuft the muck, although you had to be quick on and off with it as it 'whitened' the bumper. I then heat gunned the bumpers.

Haha, thats what it was called! I got it from the stores at work, which are run by Travis perkins the builders merchants. It was their own brand '4 trade' and called 'heavy duty degreaser' and came in a spray bottle.
Charlie, your welcome touse it and the gun if you fancy the drive up to Essex.
