i just need to fit the new rear bumper brackets and adjust the new exhaust so it dosnt rattle against the body of the car.
then it needs to go for paint :)
not sure if I should go for 3 spoke alloys or steels and trims?
And do I drill the wings and put the side repeaters on and Ariel?

i need to fit the bump strips aswel :)

Hi bud looks like a tidy little shell mate you had much work to do on it ? I would go with the original 3 spoke wheels personally if you going for the totally original look :-)

The wheels suit it but look a wide offset on the fronts, maybe the angle.

Like the colour and the originality, re: the side indicators for an mot it usually is down to the guy doing the mot if they pass it or not ;)

i was was told about the side repeaters being an mot fail...
i have them to put back on but wasn't sure what to do.
think I will chance bit with the mot first :)

Wheels do look good on it :) but as you say the 3 spokes would be better :)

id say 3 spokes personally, for that classic look, and I wouldn't bother touching the wings, unless the mot man says otherwise :thumb:

This whole thing regarding not fitting side repeaters is a joke tbh.
Youd all cry your eyes out if somebody smashed into you and wrote your car off,especially when it was claimed the other party couldnt see you.
Good luck with the insurance claim on that score!
Sorry,not a dig at the OP but alot ask this regurlarly and its daft to even consider not fitting.
Same with the wing mirrors,quite why one woild wanna reduce the already pathetic size is beyond me lol

i think ink I will keep the wheels on there but get some 3 spokes and standard steels with trims to swap and change :)
bought my son a mk1 merit so I can put the wheels on his car when I decide to change them :)

i see the point about the side repeaters! And I do prefer the look of them on. So I guess it won't hurt to drill the holes and fit them again! I have my sons nova to take a measurement off :)

why do some wings not have the side repeaters? :/

The early MK1 wings pre 83 didn't need them by law for the MOT ;)

Like rich said it only came law after a set date so cars before then do not need them yours does but they sell wings un drilled as it's ok for early cars and just drill wings for late cars

If you don't want to drill the wings fit them in the mirrors lot easyer to replace them will be legal and only 2 wires per side to run into the door 1 if you earth via the door but I'd run an earth to the body

I'm looking at leds from maplin was thinking a cluster under the mirror so they stick out a bit but real bright so flash a lot then there not on show as much but still do the job
