im in need of 2 pinch bolts that hold the bottom ball joint into the hub as one of mine has snapped

vauxhall want you to order loads, just get corsa ones. they should be the same.

Not just any bolt though, you want the shank to be unthreaded where it sits under the section of balljoint.

The thought of the balljoint ripping out of the knuckle doesnt bare thinking about..... :(

Doctor, you have correctly described a bolt, as opposed to a set screw(which is threaded full length).

i'm sure i remember Lee or Dar using normal threaded M8 nut and bolt on a track car!

That's what's holding it together at the moment it will probley be ok but you will never know till it's goes lol

I'm sure the pressure on the ball joint from the clamping will be the same with a set screw or bolt as it's still the same thing so long as it's 8.8 rated

If you look at the assembly, not only does the knuckle casting clamp around the ball joint, but the bolt passes against the curved shaping of the balljoint creating a 2nd interface for clamping/support.
