Well this car has been passed about a fair bit between members on here, and has been pilfered right left and centre to keep nova sports alive and under restoration, previous owner has now sold his house though and is having to down size his collection so this became available, is an 83 nova sr one of the earliest know surviving cars, it's really solid has the odd small dent and the back arches have had the lip ground off at some stage but other than that it's in great shape, looks dreadfull in the pic but if you look past the paint it really isn't bad.

Plans are a bit sketchy at the minute first thing is source a tailgate and bonnet so I have all panels for paint then get it upside down and have a look at the floor.

I'm currently thinking keep it looking early sr xe on carbs but front mount the alternator so I don't have to cut the chassis, and a later sr interior don't like the brown it should have and not prep aired to pay a fortune for something I don't like, this project also means the end for the saloon as need a lot of its parts for this but onwards and upwards

Fair play for seeing it's potential. panels look pretty straight.

Looking forward to this rebuild..

The later Mk1 interior would be a good choice...

Good luck with this project... :thumb:

Micra alternator or similar too front mount. Keep it small and compact. Easier then.

Wasnt there a nice set of mk1 Burberry seats going on ebay? Might look good in a white sr.

Had a bit of a look over the sr today in daylight needs a battery tray but other than that is solid chassis legs are fantastic for a 31 year old craper.

I am glad this is finally getting restored. Although a little scruffy it is a cracking shell and solid in all the right places.
I have a couple more pics of it when I first got it so I will dig them out. Did you get the service book with it?

Anyone know if Sbd are making the front mount alternator bracket that they have just made for there dellara race car? Want to front mount the alternator on my xe rather than chop the leg.

Can you not just use the small denso jap ones?
