Ok, as most of you may know, I'm not 17 until december, and I'm building a Nova ready for when I'm driving.

So far I've done the exterior, interior and sounds, all I have got left to do now is a bit of engine work.

I have already lined myself up a Piper 270 cam, thanks to Will (Novanutta). A Gas flowed ported polished skimmed head, again thanks to Will, and also I have got my hands on a webber 32/34 carb with inlet filter n that. Everything I need.

The other thing is that I have just been offered a set of Twin 40's with all linkages and that, which i could afford, but my only concern then is petrol.

I am a poor student, and when I'm driving, I'm guessing I will be doing approx 150-250 miles per week. For about 100 of those miles, I will be driving sanely, and to put it bluntly for the rest of them I'll be probably driving like a ****.

I would like to know how many miles would I get out of a tenner for the 32/34 when Im driving sanely, and 32/34 webber when im driving not so sanley. Also I would please like to know the same for t40's.

Also what performance wud it be kicking out wiv 32/34 and what performance wiv t40's....

Many thanks

Paul

erm i do hope youve considered the incurance costs with fitting T40's or a 32/34.

driving sanely with a 32/34 should see around 30-40mpg
with 40's erm 25-30 (if your lucky)

as for raggin

40's prehaps 17-18mpg

if im always stopping and starting, moving slow, driving sensibly then yes around 80.

motorway miles, like going to trax on sunday, i got 101 to a tenna doing a constant 70 mph down m1

would a standard 1.4 sr with twin 40's, beat a standard 1.4sr with 32/34 webber carb, piper 270 cam, gas flowed, ported, polished and skimmed head on performance.

What would be more efficient and what wud be quicker top end a 0-60mph.
