None.

I would not have a clue were to start on this not something I bothered with much so got a few questions

a list of recommended products to use :

cleanyourcar.co.uk - dodo juice born to be mild shampoo
stoner tar remover
auto finess citrus degreaser (bugs, engine bay, inner arches, dirt on interior plastic, general dirt in silly places) use with a 'detailing brush to agitate' lightly rinse off.

cleanyourcar yellow claybar to remove bonded contaminants off glass/paint,cut into 4 pieces(will last you a year '2pieces every 6months' leave to soak in warm water for 5minutes before use,as hard claybar can inflict 'marring' which is basically inflicting damage to your paint! use dodo juice clay lube, plenty of it,use fingertip pressure! This stage is vital prior to polish for best shine!

polish depends....do you want to mask defects(swirls) or would you like to machine polish? or general hand polish?

sealent to finish off(for light coloured paint 'best clarity' auto finesse tough coat is my recommendation

wax for dark coloured paint 'collinite 476 is durable' apply with applicator, apply very thin,do two panels,go back to panel 1,buff off(in straight lines) panel 2 buff off, and continue on like that, try to avoid direct sunlight and leaving on for a long period of time! leave 3 hours between coats for the wax to cure :)

and products that are used by bodyshop a as I have things to paint so would rather use things that react less etc if that makes sense
Your in luck i'm an ex painter........! most people would say use farcela g3,not a bad product, but extremely harsh and needs alot of refinishing afte rto bring back the shine!
I personally use 3m fast cut plus,it i harsh but not as harsh as g3,the 3m product is a diminishing polish which means at the beginning of the polish cycle it cuts very well but the cut gets less and less as you polish, you have to 'break it down' and go through the cycle to break it down, any continuous polishing after the break down process is pointless and might cause it to clog up in the pad, nothing wrong with cleaning a pad after every few panels!

Hope that helps, more than happy to help.

3M Fastcut is great. I use it every time to polish flatted paint back up.

Hi Edd, there are various options, paintwork can be thin/thick/soft/hard/sticky i can't assume your talking about a Nova,so i would ask first what make/model you are referring too, also what the colour is,what year and has it got clearcoat,i could give you alot better advice with those details, reason being removing defects like those arent really cookie cutters so to speak,

It's not any odd polish does all,

You will more than likely need to use a DA or Rotary polisher,i'll elaborate when you give me those details though,

Cheers.

Can be done by hand, just a lil more work is needed.

I respect the fact you would rather not use a machine, therefore my suggestions would be..........

Wash loose dirt off in straight lines, have 2 buckets(1 with shampoo, other with water) and a lambswool mitt, same process, once you have polished/protected the paint. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/car-wash-shampoos/dodo-juice-basics-of-bling-shampoo-500ml/prod_832.html

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/wash-mitts-sponges/cleanyourcar-wooly-mammoth-wash-mitt/prod_1350.html - use this to wash the sport :)

to removes bugs general greasy stuff - citrues degreaser - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/valeting-and-bulk/auto-finesse-citrus-power-5l/prod_1167.html

Tar remover - autofinesse(microfibre cloth to remove) again wipe in straight lines to minimise causing defects.

clay bar next - make sure the claybar is easy to mould into any shape(like a sausage)if it isnt, leave it in warm water for a few minutes until required consistency achieved,if it is too hard you run the risk of inflicting 'marring' which is in effect, putting more fine scratches into your paint. This must be used with a clay lube and dont be shy with the lube lol fingertip pressure is fine,a must process to remove any bonded contaminants prior to polishing(or you are just polishing in contaminants that will further fine scratch your paint). A good tip to feel if your paint is smooth(get a small plain food bag over your fingertips and slowly glide along the paint(this enhances the sensitivity in your fingertips)!

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/detailing-clay-bars/auto-finesse-fine-clay-bar-200g/prod_1121.html
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/detailing-clay-lubricants/dodo-juice-born-slippy-concentrate-500ml/prod_594.html - use this as the clay lube(it dilutes well,so it will last forever!)

Now regarding the polish........ you want to remove these defects by hand.........this is just an amazing products,a whole car will be tough work but the reward will be sensational.........
500ml of this will be more than enough to polish your car, absolutely astonishing product, but you will need to follow it up with another polish, reason being the nano composites in this products do remove defects, but leave a slight haze behind,so you need to refine(jewel the paint back to its full lustre) which is alot easier than the first process of removing the defects!

http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/polishing/p1-nanocomposite-polish/ this will remove defects(watch video)

http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/polishing/p2-hologram-removing-polish/ - this is the refining polish(stage 2)

you will need 2 of these....1 for each stage of the polishing. http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/polishing/fp1-tri-foam-polish-pad/

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microfibre-cloths/multi-purpose-polishing-cloths/blue-ultra-fine-buffing-towels-pkg/2/prod_1316.html
I would recommend a good few of these products for the process, tar removing/polishing,they can be washed in washing machine without using any detergents, and to dry naturally, can be used again!

PAINT PROTECTION - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/auto-finesse-tough-coat-sealant/prod_912.html This product is just amazing,it will add to the final finish and absolutely protect the sports paint like nothing else, and it dosnt come at a big cost!

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/accessories/blue-perl-microfibre-applicator-pads-pkg/2/prod_186.html - apply the above 'tough' coat product with this, again buff with a clean microfibre cloth.

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/drying-towels/monster-microfibre-purple-monster-edgeless-xl/prod_1297.html - would also use this for drying the vehicle!

I hope this helps :)
