Wonder if any one can help with this. I have a c20let and when I recently changed the plugs and leads following some running issues I found that lead and spark plug on number 1 cylinder was corroded quite bad from what looked like water damage.

the car has been sat for 3-4 weeks under cover and today I pulled the lead off cylinder 1 and noticed that there is a water in the spark plug well.

has any one ever seen this, my first thought is head gasket but looking at pics of the c20let head I can't see this causing it. The head is a coscast.

has anyone got any ideas before I rip the engine out?

cheers

Here's a pic of the water, I've just dried it with some rag but can't smell any obvious signs of antifreeze but its difficult to tell.

Looking at the below cut a away pic, the only way I can see water getting in is if there is a crack in the head.

Now I've dried it out ill seen how long it takes to fill back up again. It may be that the Bodyshop jet washed the engine bay, but because this has happened before I'm not sure that is the cause.

the only way to tell is to taste it. Antifreeze is sweet.

id say the jet wash has done it imo
