ive done it and it works fine

BUT it only works on the 8v dashes and with nova senders marked "AA" which i found in a few SPi's - not sure about the sri/late gsi sender but if its marked AA it will be fine

if its a 16v dash u NEED the original sender.

I tried that with my SPI one it read half the speed but i didn't matter as i just piggybacked the the astra one on top of it as if it was a speedo cable. i thought i might get away without using the astra one but no such luck

thats cos u didnt flick the red switch

the nova sender WILL work with 8v dash as long as its stamped AA - which according to the EPC they all were

t frlick the red switch? to ue any transducer. i though the red switch is to get it closer to the right seed, if its alittle bit out. (faster or slower)

Correct, the red switch is because the astras came with two different size wheels. They only change by about 6%, not a lot.
