Well that didn't really go to plan ,started really well in quali car was flying ,but towards the end it started to miss fire so I came back to the paddock to see what was wrong ,whilst fault finding someone came over and told me I had qualified in 2 nd overall:eek:.It was a fueling issue with the car so I had a spare fuel pump so we changed it and hoped it would be ok for race 1,
so I was lined up alongside Rod Birleys wrc escort cossie ,got a good start but being on the outside I got passed by a bmw m3 into paddock ,I then had a bit of a play with Paul Eve in his cossie,then the fuel starvation started again so race over it was a realshame as the bmw and cossie went off on oil so a podium might have been on .
So strip it down again and it was decided the only thing it could be after checking for blockages etc was the regulator so we removed it and took a gamble that it would be ok
Onto race2 I was starting 19 th got a good start again and was picking people off but I still had no 5 thi got to Bill Richards in his mini who was battling a golf turbo ,I managed to pass Bill at Druids but he got back past on the straight as I have no straight line speed due to no 5 th I followed him round to Graham hill where we both got a better exit than the golf and got up the inside going into Clearways ,Bill got past but the golf turned into me resulting in me going off onto the grass but I managed to rejoin and finish 2 nd in class but I now have to get a new bumper / headlight ,splitter and repair the inner wing :cry:

sort of we removed the regulator so the carbs were getting full pressure ,it worked until the last couple of laps when the engine decide to rev its nuts off with no throttle applied ,nearly killed me going Into Druids trying to brake with the engine bouncing off the limiter ,I think some how the unregulated fuel pressure was swamping the engine with fuel ,they were an interesting few laps:eek:

Jezz.

Did you get hold of Steve Porter reference the wide-arch kit?

I noticed this on EBAY today, might be worth a try to see if they have any spare panels?;
