Sadly the time has come to sell my girlfriends Nova. We restored this in 2011 and since then it’s been garaged apart from making an appearance in the summer. Car has covered just over 3000 miles since being restored on a spit.

Engine
Engine is a 1600cc C16XE from a Corsa GSI, this has been declared and is noted on the log book. The engine was re-built just over 3000 miles ago and is running +.5 pistons and .25 oversized big and main bearings also the con rods have ARP rod bolts. The head had the valves re-ground and also new seals including valve stem oil seals and the lifters cleaned and new cambelt kit and waterpump. The engine is attached to the car by 3 solid billet aluminium engine mounts manufactured by CompBrake.

The engine has a rare and sought after Velos inlet manifold that replicates the Lotus one which was removed by Vauxhall as the C16XE when in development produced more than its bigger brother the C20XE it was restricted with a 4.5 foot inlet manifold and MAF sensor.
Exhaust has a stainless steel 4-1 manifold that connects to a 2 box 2.25” Magnex system which sounds lovely, not too loud and doesn’t deafen you when motorway driving.

The engine is controlled by an aftermarket ECU DTA S40 and a purpose built wiring loom still both retailing at over £800 and uses an innovative LC-1 wide band lambda to control the closed loop fuelling. The engine was setup twice by AB Garage in Hawarden, I'm unsure on power as they're just pub talk figures but similar spec engines make around 150-155 BHP at 7300rpm.

Gearbox
A Vauxhall F15CR with lightweight 8V flywheel, this is over 4.5KG lighter than the traditional 16V flywheel and really makes a difference. Also new clutch kit fitted 3000 miles ago. I manufactured and machined a rose jointed gear selector to take away the horrid play of the standard Vauxhall one.

Suspension.
The whole car is Polybushed and running AVO coil spring suspension (Not Coilovers!). Also has a front strutbrace.

Brakes.
Car had 4 pot aluminium calipers (Compbrake) and 282mm Bells and rotors, new brake hoses Hawk break pads, still running rear drums on the back as it really doesn’t need rear discs.

Wheels and Tyres
Wheels are 15” Vauhall painted black with a silver rim, they look lovely. Tyres are 3000 miles old and are like new. 4x Uniroyal Rainsport 2’s 15/195/45’s.

Bodywork.
The body shell was originally a 1.2 trip but a GSI body kit has been fitted and colour coded. The shell was placed on a spit in 2011 and any welding on the under side was completed including the sills and parts of the boot floor. The front panel was removed and replaced with a new unit and so where the front inner wing tops. The whole under side of the car was sprayed in zinc primer then sprayed with Dinitrol black wax under seal. The cars sills and any other crevices including chassis legs inside the boot and doors etc were also sprayed with Dinirtol brown cavity wax. The bonnet has Sierra cosworth bonnet vents fitted and the car is a VERY tidy example of a 23 year old Nova. Sadly at the time of restoration we decided to fill the body kit to the body work and due to the hard ride of the car there are a few little cracks between the bodywork and side skirts.

Inside the car
The car is fitted with 2 reclining type bucket seats (ripspeed), theres a metal gear knob, 3 pedals, a steering wheel and a black GSI dash, the door cards were painted black too so were other plastics.

Alarm.
Car features a CAT1 Toad alarm with anti hi-jack and impact sensors.

Other bits.
I’ve got numerous maps for the engine but the one in it is the best. The engine is currently set to hit the soft cut limiter at 6800 and hard cut at 7000 RPM for daily running, the map can be raised to 7300 RPM but it didn’t need to be set to this for daily driving.
It’s had a brand new fuel tank fitted.
New wheel bearings
I’ve got a brand new oil cooler kit including thermostatic sandwich plate and oil cooler that currently isn’t fitted.
I bought a brand new GM rare as rocking horse …. Tailgate as these rot and you’ll be hard to pushed to find one of these anywhere.

There’s loads more and I’ve probably missed loads and loads but please if you’re interested get in touch. I don’t want tyre kickers or joy riders but I’d like the car to go to someone who would look after it.

Car is garage stored and only makes appearances in summer, car MOT'd till End of August and has covered a total of 75 miles since it's last MOT Reason for sale is the Mrs had a baby and the car sadly doesn't get used (I don't drive due to visual impairment). . No Tax but we can sort this if someone wants to buy. £4000 for mods sake but make an offer, a serious one please.
