The foam piper cross items are the neatest fitting items I've used in the past however I have a k & N cone style filter which was removed from Mark Beesons nova turbo and although a bit bigger fitted fine. See my nova turbo parts f/s thread for a pic.

I'm using this filter from ramair, it's a great fit, all foam and a bargain at £25.

Wow you all hate your engines lol

I know its not trendy and the space is tight, but you cannot fault the filtering ability of an OEM spec paper filter. Even the cheap versions are 1000000% better than these foam ones.

Not really helpful when an air box won't fit?

pipercross and ram air seem the best options and are also paint friendly.

You could always design and make one....

Thats quite a powerful quote, I find it quite interesting as over the years of playing with cars I see so many cone filters fitted on some very powerful cars. Is there profe that these types of filters are worse than a standard paper filter. I'm not being funny either, its a genuine question.

if this is the case it's very interesting, may think about trying to design an airbox.

There was an article on a mk4 golf website where someone did a test to prove the filtration or lack of in some of these aftermarket jobbies. I'll see if I can find it.

There was a similar article on that old LET tuning site (max boost). Throw away paper filters FTW.

Or an Apexi if I had to fit a cone.

i will be sticking with a foam filter for now, lets face it the let engine is a very good engine but can be unreliable at times, running a faom filter isnt going to kill it first lol
