Long story short, Tina has killed her E16SE  So, we were thinking C/X16 time.

Will these drop in on the same mounts & box as the E16? Is the wiring similar to E16? What about the ECU immobiliser and VSS? Any other things to look out for?

first off, i am sorry for your loss.

secondly, it is a straight fit, you do need the whole key & immob sensor thingy off the ign. and there is a speed sender i think comes off a mk2 spi nova that the speedo cable still fits into.

thirdly... just how killed is it? i might be interested in the remains.

You dont need immob for cQ16xe. Seem a bit rare to find these days though.

Run the c16xe loom on the later engine as there easier to find the the early ones saves immobiliser wiring.

Without being a vulture I too would be interested in the remains of the e16se

Thanks Mike :)

Not looked at it tbh yet, but she said a water pipe popped off and didn't realise :( Not sure on the damage yet, it might be repairable, but then, it might not..

EDIT : Would these C/X16's require a CAT for the MOT? I can't remember if it goes on the engine age, or car age..

the mot thing is a big of a grey area.. as the car is pre-cat, you should get away without it

MOT fine here without one if before 1992 reg car. C16Xe in a nova but runs DTA management.
