e16se misfire at the limiter

Last weekend when being scrutineered we were asked to take the car to the limiter.
My z/e/c16se hybrid engine didnt hit the limiter.It revved clean right up to where the limiter should be but was misfiring.
Ihave tested the coil and it appears the secondary windings are dead.Could this be the cause?
Could the ign amp cause it too?
The engine is fine.ticks over fine and revs up fine with plenty of power so pretty sure its electrical.
Any advice or help is always appreciated.

We have similar prob on a x16xe been like this a while but just standard setup I don't know yours sorry but it's well annoying

this is.it runs perfect and pulls spot on.i never noticed it til then.
i want to fit a rev gauge and find out where the limiter is so i can shift up just before at the start as ya cant hear or feel the car as theres 8 cars in a line all running the same engine lol
