might sound stupid but why remove choke?

Hi yes was on 1.3 nova and chokes are removed on our grass cars to let maximum air in for maximum power

Has it come off an astra manifold as that's whats commonly used apparently? As bought a weber and K&N that come off a nova and it's too small
