Ok tank has internal filter so I'm thinking that's a no also prob so clogged it's caused the running problem as starving the pump of fuel

Can you get car petrol tanks lined still, I know they do bike tanks but not sure on car ones?

Found a bit of info on it - http://www.cwylde.co.uk/page.php?xPage=flowliner-tanks.html
might be worth looking into as a last resort
It is usually a carb that plays up rather then fuel delivery. If you undo the fuel pipe from the carb and have some one turn the engine over a few times, if your getting a reasonable amount of fuel then it's not fuel delivery.
Also if fuel delivery is the problem the float chamber will be empty so undo the screw to open the carb and see if it is full or empty.

It's defo the tank the filter is so clogged in the tank it's starved of fuel will get a pick but my mpi pump struggled to pump through it never mind the poor little mechanical one 22 mins to pump out 10-15 L and 3 mins to pump back in so I'm sure that's it
just had it running fine on a bottle of fuel
found an sr tank with no return can this be used if I return to the supply at the tank or do away with the return or some other ideas ?

Thanks Scott will have a look I'm gona go remove another tank tomorow that may sort it but that's been sat a loooooooong time so not gona get my hopes up but still need a new tank and google has provided nothing so far
you should be able just to close of the fuel return from the carb. I did this with a 2e3 and it ran fine.
