mk1 1.3 sr battery problem

hi all iv had my nova about 2 weeks now and its been up at my mates farm for storage while i did the welding but the battery is dying the alternator is charging the battery but once i put it off i can leave it for an hour or less and the battery is dead i had a volt meter to it and you see it going down fast could anyone shred some light on it please ??

Battery knackered or something is draining it a shorted wire or light on but to drain in an hour I'd say battery at fault

when i was welding it i did set fire to under the dash but like a foam bit where there was no wires near but ill try the battery off my astra and see if its still doing it

I am sure it's a battery, they often do that, will run ok but quickly loose charge. Also check that the altenator is earthed.

Did you isolate the battery whilst the welding was being carried out?

Yeah I isolated it and it was the battery that was knackered iv put a new one on now and is fine :)
