x16xe wiring ign live

Im doing a xe conversion to my 1.2 merit
And want to know can I take the live and ign off the starter motor?

the ecu red wire (live) - is best going to the battery.
and the ecu black wire (switched live) - you can connect to the black wire that used to go to the 1.2's coil. its a switched live.

As above no you could get your live from the main live on the starter but were are you trying to connect them from the ecu ? It's far easyer to pick up from the fuse box or colum wires
