Hi everyone, well long story short is I've been waiting for a works injury claim to come through and just accepted. Was expecting no more then £3000 but recived a letter last week for £9000 :)
im still smiling. Anyways after clearing debt I've gave myself £4000 to buy a toy, problem is I'm torn between what to buy, my heart says another nova as I've loved them since before I could drive (14years ago) but my heads saying something newer, I've always wanted a let nova. What are they like to live with?? Won't be an every day car just my bit of fun. Anyone's opinion is welcome as im finding myself wasting most my spare time on the internet..

Cheers for reading :thumb:

Well my top 3 cars are subaru impreza turbo(had 4)classic mini (had 23) and the little nova hot hatch,I'm on my second nova..if you can get a decent nova for fair money you can't go wrong really, you don't have to spend all your budget..why not buy 2 cars?for me it's simple every time I see any of my favourite cars as in the above 3,I feel giddy and excited and always look over every inch of them..I will always have at least one of them but in time I hope to have all 3 to keep..I will have my nova running the 1.2 for this year but next year hope to go bigger,I'm excited about just getting back into a nova.treat yourself to a nice clean nova and enjoy the summer in it..

Well I'm a lover of the 80's hot hatch, as for newer cars I've been looking at the civic type r and the Audi s3. Just thought I'd ask the opinions of people with the same passion as me. Alex j's one is the sort of well cared for example but colour scheme not to my taste. Not many let Novak for sale is there

Personally if I got handed £4k I'd be saving a bit more to add to it and buying a Mk2 Escort

Yea it sounds boring indeed. Knocking around a year off your mortgage plus the interest on £4k over XYZ years. But that's what I'd do if it were me.

Don't get me wrong, Im all for buying a Mk2 Escort, Id love one in a Group 4 spec. But then that £4k will soon become £20k+. Ergo, repay debt early = more monies for car parts & run out your days living the dream.

But there again, Ive been dicking about building cars for around 12 years now, so it all gets a bit samey to me. Hence the CBA attitude with mincing about with them anymore & would rather travel around the world lol

I see where youre coming from so it probably depends on your circumstances. Right now I'm in a position where I'd love to be able to afford a toy

Certainly does. Just depends on aspirations in life IMO.

And mine is clear mortgage ASAP, retire early & live out my days touring every racetrack in Europe with a cheap as chips ex Ferrari 355 challenge car (circa £30k + tow car + trailer).

Good shout, probably have enough left over to tax & insure it aswell lol

If you think a Nova is a hoot to drive, have a blast in a stripped out old Evo, they ARE fun!

Nice to read everyone's opinions, I've had evos an imprezas along with many other rice rockets but as with everyone on here (except mike lol) I have yet to shake the obsession with these rusty little things and now I'm in the position to have one as a weekend toy I will. I've decided to sprains half maybe a bit more an bank the rest for a rainy day. I've got one I will be viewing soon so will post if I decide to buy :thumb:
