Quick rack feels notchy/stiff??

I've just fitted a quick rack and pinion, I replaced the pinion bearing and coated everything in a decent grease.

the rack doesn't feel as smooth as I thought and it seems notchy, the kit was new and supposedly quaife.

Does the kit need bedding in a bit? Any help much appreciated

Could it be the rack damper screw in too tight ?.

^ most likely. the back-lash adjustment could be over tightened.

Either that or the UJ is seized or stiff. But unlikely.
