Hi all,
Expecting delivery of my new Nova sport this weekend. Suspected by previous owner that the ignition amplifier has packed up.
Sitting in my workshop i have my old 1300 rally nova and the engine is out and under the workbench. I have looked on both the car and the motor for the ignition amplifier but cant spot it. I want to try it on the new sport to see wether thats the issue.
Does anyone know where i will find the ignition amp on the car or on the motor? as iv never had to change one before, never even seen one!

I believe its this type as the car has the old square type coil (with exposed iron windings)

there isn't one. it is simply a dizzy & a coil with a couple of wires.

There is a module inside the distributor that are prone to failing, probably that they are talking about.
They are different on the Sport and SR of that period as they have extra pins. I think they are for the idle control unit situated on the inner wing.

The module is like the one in your link but it has six pins iirc
