As some of you know i have reciently been debating on getting a roll cage seat belt mounted type.
The only thing is they say i have to drill my wheel arch to secure the other half!
Does anybody know of any other way to alter this so that i dont have to drill the arches?
get one that bolts to the rear strut mounts, lol
u want cage for show or for its real purpose?
if show get a light weight one that will be useless in a crash, lmfao
are u taking out back seats or leaving in?
please say taking them out.. lol
will

why would i be in hospital?
Yous have totally lost me now
The problems with the chrome cages is that they are weak unless very expensive (i belive the fearless ones are the safest around).
The cheaper ones such as what your looking at have been know to break when put under pressure off an impact.
On a couple of occasions bars have broken and tore through the back of the front seats.
Same with most things in life- You get what you pay for and safety is not to be messed with.
Roll cages are designed to serve a purpose and not to look good, if you just want one to look good you are completely defeating the object of owning one.
Nothing wriong with fitting one that will save you that looks good but make sure its that way round and not the other.

the one that i found first was the dearest (apart from the one your sellin)
And it is finished not unfinished so i think the one i was gonna go for was the safest one out of the ones we been on about.
Mine is more expensive than the ones your looking at as its a complete cage not just the rear quarter.

i have the OMP cage in my car, it costs 194 from deamon tweeks, looks good and should take a crash
(hopefully  )
yeah OMP are a quality safety company that make decent quality products.
the omp cage is road use only, so although they do make quality cages this one is not.

it's still a good cage... evne if not for competition use.... look at the chrome cage above..... where the bar goes down next to the seat base it's not bolted to anything... just rested on the floor!!! :o :o :o

i was told this
they fix to the front seat belt mounts and you'll need to drill a hole on the rear arch for another fixing.
Ste_Nova
10-09-03, 11:28 AM
also the angle is so great into the back section.... where does it fit to??? notmal cage goes to section of arch visable by seats... at that angle it's gonna miss the arch!!
linzTDI
10-09-03, 11:29 AM
you have to drill your arch and it bolts to it

No need to be like that, you asked for opinions and everyone has given there honest view, just because its not the answer you wanted to hear dont get defensive and think we are all having a go at you.
Ste has gave you a couple of alternatives in your budget but your not intrested, we have also said that if you do want a chrome cgae speak to FMD who also post on this site.
He hasnt replied in this as i expect he wouldnt want to be biased, wich is a good sign.
The cage you have shown us looks cheap and shoddy, its not like you have bought it or built it so we are not having a go at you.
Just a point about the OMP road cages- As Ste said just because they are not certified for competition dosent mean they are bad, OMP build quality products, they are not going to drop there standard of workmanship and risk there reputation.
If they built it for road use it will suit that job perfectly.

just getting fustrated thats all i love the finish (look) on the mpsperformance cage
Whats OMP?
That many people have replied with different things i dont know where i am at.
I want a chrome cage with a nice finish which has access to the rear seats and is easy to fit also which isnt going to kill me.

PM fearless (Dave France) on this site and tell him exactly what you want, even show him the pictures and then ask him if he could build you something similar and what sort of prie will it be.
It will be more expensive than that bent coathanger youve posted up but it will be built to a much better standard and a lot safer.
