hi everyone, my girlfriend has brought a new car today and gave me her old mk4 astra sxi 1.6 (z16xe) to use as a daily driver , its had a starting problem ever since she brought it 3 years ago. It never bothered her but i want it fixed, everytime you start it from cold or warm it starts for 5 secs then cuts out it will do this everytime unless you rev it as it goes to cut out , then runs fine. no other running problems or eml coming on. I had a quick look today and noticed the egr valve isnt plugged in and there isnt a plug for it anywhere, i lifted the black cover off the loom that runs across the injectors and the wires in there seem to have been played with, could this be causing the problem? any help would be great, thanks matt.
