Does this actualy realy serve any point 'cos i've read on here to just take it out, but in the new Max Power/Haynes Nova manual it goes on about undoing it to get the front bumper off but NOT to just take it off and throw it away. What actualy happens if you just throw it away? And how to you go about blocking it off proprely, and which of tyhe pipes have you got to take off, and how far back to the tank?
cheers.

it doesn't do anything... and it doesn't go wrong
removal is easy.. just rip off and block pipes to inlet and brake vac.... remove tank one back to the joint by the rear wheel

There is pipe that leads from the throttle body to this and once removed there is a very small loss of vacum, which can make the car run a bit sick. Block off this to re-create the vacum and all should be fine!
Keith
there is zero need to remove it.
if it aint broke dont remove it lol
