Hi all, purchased a nova rally car at the weekend, its the first nova i have had with a cav internal shifter fitted, and it engages all gears ok, but the gears feel really sloppy, and say from 1st to 2nd isn't straight, its bananas down if that makes any sence. Might just be me not being used to shonky nova boxes lol, but i'm sure all my old ones were not that bad! I would of thought the fact its running the cav shifter shouldn't make too much difference so could it be a knackered linkage etc? Any advise? Also can you get short shifters for the f13 box or am i better off making one myself?

The play on an internal shifter is in the bottom bit and the "ball" that moves the rod, if it's got a rubber bush there make sure it's present and in good condition, better setups have a plastic ball to eliminate play.

Linkage check the balls and the main pivot and ensure it's got nylon uprated bushes and a good condition pin that's pushed in all the way

Play in the box can be checked by wiggling the turret
