I went a bit mad-dog with a whole bunch of wiring, and ended up frazzling the little resistor on the back of the dash clocks that controls the fuel gauge.
any idea what type it is / rating ? (I think it might be a potentiometer by the look of the wiring diagram ? total guess tho)
also - im not sure if it was my wiring that did it, or if I put the connector block in the clocks the wrong way round, it fits both ways !! (what the cheese & pickle baloney ...?)
one way is loose-ish
one way is tight-ish
anyone know which way is correct ? lol
cheers :thumb:

or maybe it was the voltage stabilizer for the temp. gauge - aahh bloody electrics (its only when you fcuk up things that you start to learn) lol
looked like this :

I figured out that 'loose-ish' is the correct way round, for anyone that needs to know.
the pins and tabs that meet are offset to each other by about half a millimetre if inserted the wrong way round, and theres a guide groove on one side of the connector, even tho the slot for it, in the clocks is twice as big as the connector, and seems to serve no real purpose.... silly design.
the fuel gauge seems fine... im guessing the damage was to the temp. gauge circuit possibly.
anyway I can test the temp gauge to verify this ? (I cant run the car at the moment, as the coolant system isn't hooked up)

its the left side resistor in the image below : (unsure which circuit its part of)

also, does anyone know what the brown/white wire is for ?
as I haven't got it hooked up to anything.
the vss has a brown/white, which isn't hooked up either, not sure if either of them is needed as the car runs without

seems like brown/white is either handbrake warning light or un-needed, in which case its coming out lol
