1.2- gte engine swap

just gettin a gte engine put in, but have noticed that people are on about swirl pots in the petrol tank, i have still got the 1.2 tank on, (its was a carb) will this tank be ok? what about petrol lines still the original ones? thanx

This tank will b ok, but get a GTE/SGI tank as i Noticed a difference!
Youll neet the steel fuel lines tho from a GTE/GSI!
U need the electric external fuel pump 2!

got the pump off it, will ahve to get a tank at some point anyway

im running mine off a carb tank and plastic fuel lines off a vectra and its fine

Wat u dnt really weanna use is rubber hosing, as it could collapse or burst!
Aragorn, do the plasic pipes have thick walls? and is the plastic hard? it'd b alot esier 2 use plasic pipe IMHO!

yer its hard plastic

i used those werid hose clips directly onto the plastic hose and they gripped fine

run it for about 50 miles and havent had any leaks etc so it seems fine

I have always been told that you cant use a carb tank with a fuel injected engine. When i changed my engine from a 1.2 carb to a 1.6 GTE, i noticed that the tanks were a lot different, so i used the injection tank with the external fuel pump.
