Spongey Brakes after Lowering

I have just lowered my 1.2 Nova 35mm.

The brakes now feel really spongey, is this related?

Was there any strain on the brake hose when you changed the suspension? As in, did you leave the disc and caliper and hub etc.. hanging on by the brake hose while you changed the suspension. Because if you did, the brake hose may have split which would make the brakes spongy because of the fluid p*ssing out of the hose.
