So I've got a 2 door loon that currently is standard with 1litre in! Been offered a X14sz from a 5 door corsa Vegas!

Bit more poke, bit more reliability...so thinkin it would be okay to put in and let the missus use it for her first car aswel as it being a knock about for me!

Anyone with any info on this engine swap would be useful help as I don't know how difficult it will be compared to my xe GTE that I did a few years ago!

I also need the engine loom for the x14sz if anyone has one?

if your gonna put a 1400 in put a c14se in, x14sz arent worth it standard imo

A x14sz is from a 5 door 1996 vauxhall corsa vegas and is a 1.4 8 valve coilpack type engine Nobby...but going off Jakes info i wont bother with it...how about a 1.4 16v corsa sport lump?

yes. easy to fit, as long as you get an f13 box, a rh ohc engine mount from a nova, and a fuel injection type tank

How difficult is it to wire in to the original car loom?

yeah I wouldn't bother, there only 60 horse I think. a 1.2 carb would probably be just as good.

corsa sport engines a good idea, and the wiring is pretty simple if you follow adam's diagram.
youll need to pickup a gearbox speed sensor to wire it in. (AA) 6 phase I think.
if your currently running a carb, sorting out the petrol tank side will probably be the worst bit, but providing you have all the right bits to do the conversion, it wont be too bad.

cheers jimbob! corsa sport is looking like the way forward for the saloon so far...but today im workin on my GTE, im looking for an article on replacing the battery tray before i start cutting bits of it away.

i wonder if its going to be easier getting a replacement off ebay so then i dont have to make a replica myself..!
