mk1 nova 1600 turbo project

back on the nova hype again after being away for over a year, owned a corsa vxr in that time which has broke more times than any nova.

heres my 1.2 nova had it since 13/07.2013.

when i first got it.

engine then got removed

started cutting away the metal

engine mount in filler still not finished just yet.

So is that the VXR engine from your Corsa or a motor you have sourced?

What is the plan for the running of the engine management & the rest of the car? Body/interior/paint & wheels etc...

From my corsa mate as its forged mated to a f20 gearbox in pic needs a flywheel and clutch sourcing, also sourced a spare engine for the corsa.

I'm going to try get it running on standard management as Vauxhall are giving me a hand with the wiring, if it doesn't work I'll be running a full corsa Vxr loom.

Body work is going to be looking standard on 15inch cab slabs, will have 2 buckets and a cage as will be used on track, paintwork will be same color, it has coilovers on front and 60mm springs and shocks on rear.

I've had a couple 1600 turbo's in the past, not a VXR but it's something I have considered, I'd be interested to see what is involved with keeping the oe management.

To get it running mate its going to messy at first but will be tidied up after, if I can get it running on the nova loom I'll do a right up for everyone who wants to keep it on oe management.

quick question for you mate : the mod you've done in the inner wing, to allow the engine mount to fit..... any idea if the same will need to be done for a z12xe ? ... the 1.2 looks like a thinner block and I was hoping there would be enough room to attach it to the original nova mount with a custom bracket. I was considering fitting one someday, but didn't think about any extreme fabrication work. what do you reckon ?

Cheers been busy with the build getting the body work finished. Jimbob I'm not sure mate as I've not looked at z12xe to mount 1 there might be some fabrication to do.

At the moment its looking like the corsa b servo but depending on the money it will most likly get a pedal box, engine will hopefully be back in by the weekend got a few pictures to put up when I have the time.
