80mm springs

what does everyone who has 80mm springs do to keep them tight when the weight is of the car, ive had them in place and cant help thinking they will fail the mot when the car is on the ramp with the weight of to check the bearings etc

They will. Most people cable tie them to the top spring mount

It may do but it is what most people do. And going by the letter of the regulations the springs must be secure to the vehicle. Technically they are and therefore passable with an advisory notice mentioning the method of securing, down to interpretation of the tester.

The ideal way would be to have short enough shocks to not allow the springs to fall out.
