nova 1.2 wont idle after new head and head gasket

hi ive got a nova 1.2 mk1 G reg ive just done the head gasket an new cylinder head has been put on now it will only run if you stay on the throttle or have the choke halfway ive checked everything 9i can think of and all seems normal, checked the spark and all 4 are fine fuel pump is working well and compression tested it but all 4 came back 150psi im stuck so would appreciate it if anyone can help

comp test figures sound good :)

did you take the distributor off when you did the gasket ?
as the ignition timing might be out.

also, did you use new gaskets for the manifolds ? (and the carb gasket too, if you took it off that is)
