I am fitting mg kent ast2 cam kit. It comes with a single ball bearing in the kit and can't think where it's meant to go.
Anyone know cos kent cams shuts on a weekend.
In the end of the cam shaft

I think it depends on what engine really. If you run a distributor you might not need it as the OE distributor drive has a plug and an o-ring on it to seal cam and keep the oil pressure on the cam journals. As seen here:

if you run a dis-pack engine there would be no distributor to plug it so the ball will be required. you pop it in the hole with a pin-punch, then peen the end over a bit so it doesnt fall out.
If you have a 2nd hand cam with the ball fitted you might struggle to get the distributor in as the peg will bottom out. You might have to grind the tip off the drive in this case.
talking to/sleeping with someone from Kent might reveal the truth though.

I think you are correct. I checked the std cam and it doesn't have a bb.
I think I'll just sell on the ball bearing in the for sale section.
Thank you to all

Post the link please. You could sell it or buy more cams until you have enough bearings to make up a race.
