Hi guys

I'm after a bit of info. The release bearing has become noisy on the nova. I'm wanting to get it changed like this week. When I call the local motor factors they are saying that there is a choice of 2. Now I know I could take it out and measure the clutch but it will take 3 days to come apparently and can not have the car off the road for this time.

So my question is: is their a choice of 2 the car has a F20 box.

Thanks Steve

Yes there are. Early and late(ie flat or pot flywheel)
Here are the LUK part numbers.

Early, 623092800 (flat flywheel)
Late one, 623060800 (Pot flywheel)

Unlike a witches tit; flat is your friend

Ok today, got the kit to remove the clutch . When removing the plate from box below my clutch has the pot flywheel. So I gave up.haha. So the question I ask is this: do i have to remove the box now rather than using vauxhall special tool. Hope this make sense.

no you don't have to remove with a special tool, just like any other normal box undo all bolts (including flywheel cover underneath) and pull the box of, take tie bars/rods of as well so you can do it with engine in situ.

I always order both parts if possible then take back the one u don't need just makes more practical and less chance of having problems later

it's box out all the way mate

IMO if it's box off then source a flat type flywheel & put that on; then that way if the new clutch ever goes, you can do it next time without having to take the box off.
