My ongoing fight continues......

So. I just had my MOT for my car. It passed. Just. The bloke 'did not notice' the hazards were fooked. Great I thought.

Then came friday night. Doing 60 down a duel carriageway and my car cuts out. I roll to a side road and pull up. It won't start again. The engine won't kick into life. RAC come out. Sticks his finger in the antifreeze. It's black. So he tells me my head gasket has gone. Getting that sorted on wednesday.
But I just sat in my car and...............my ignition won't come on. Nowt. No lights, headlights, fuel readings on my clocks, no fan. No fuses blown and the terminals are connected on my battery. So is my battery dead or my car fooked?

Anybody else ever feel like getting a push bike?

when i had me gte i was doin 40 down a road and everthing just died
AA came out 2 it and charged it up but he said it was over chargin
whipped the airbox off and found the alternator earth cable had snapped sorted it for ?5

u cud always check that also get a multi meter across ur battery and check the voltage!

Checked the battery. Dead as a dodo. It just lost it's charge. Charged it for a few hours and put it back in. Lights worked for 3 seconds and my heater, when set to level 3, sounds like its barely on level 1. And my blades hardly move.
Gonna leave it on charge for a day and see what happers.

no worries but i wud check that alternator earth lead aswell aa recon they break dead easy

if ur battery has died with the car off im guessing there is a short somewhere possibly in the hazard wiring thats caused the battery to be drained

My hazards are faulty anyway. the button is ok but when I turn on the hazards nothing happerns. Any idea where there could be a short and how to find them / cure them?

Ur alternator could b nackerd 2! try checking the voltage output! and as sed above check earth!
