In a mk1 dash they go near the vents for the sidelight

decent speakers dont fit due to the size of the magnets & they will always sound terrible as the dash in either a mk1 or 2 just cant take much more than about 10watts before it tries to unscrew itself from the bulkhead.

Make some kick well builds.

I would do door builds or kick panels. Sound is 300% better.

I did like some one above, got FLI stuff from halfords, £120 worth of speakers for £60. Sounds bloody good on them too.

I put uprated 4" pioneer speakers in the standard mounting points..................don't bother it made little to no difference at all worse 30/50 odd quid I ever spent

The std dash positions dont seal the speaker in its baffle (ie the mounting surface) so you get the same sound quality as if you dangled the speaker from the rear view mirror.
