So..... Around a week ago i went and got myself a LET Nova

It started life in red as a 1.2 LS

Spec as followes

C20LET engine with full rebuild 550 miles ago
New clutch
3" Uprated top hat inlet
XE inlet cam
Pace charge cooler
Uprated silicon hoses throughout
New V6 disk and pads
Full power flow exhaust system
F20 gearbox
Had a full respray (not happy with rear arches though)
GTE interior
GTE did dash fully working

I got the car from someone who didnt want to finish it and needed the funds for another project so its not a show car

It needs bits like roof lining as it has none, needs a horn fitting, loads of little bits mostly, it does have some bad bits but i will get to that as i do it

This will be an ongoing slow project so bare with me

So here are a few photos, i will get more up later

Yeah the engine bay and underneath has been done in underseal, at least i know it wont rust lol

Is it the one with a sunroof? If so PM me

I will be keeping it for now, it gets a bit hot in traffic but ok once you get going

Thanks for looking in and as i said there still a bit of money and time that needs to go into this

Had quite a big problem with it already which im a bit gutted about....

The alternator belt come off and on closer inspection we realized the bottom pulley come off and the bolts have sheered so a new crank pulley, alternator / bottom pulley, cranks pulley bolt, maybe washer, V belt and timing belt kit is needed

What a pain, will update once i got the parts :)

Yes i got it a few weeks back from Birmingham

It was advertised as having new suspension but im sure i was told it was standard and it looks standard to me

Im still in contact with the person i got it off so will confirm tomorrow :)

If it's coilovers the backs been jacked up to stop or reduce the rubbing

its hard to say but looks like the wheels are the wrong offset there well out on the arches

roof lineing is non sunroof sorry

Bad news on the engine id be checking every nut and bolt on it if that happened to me now

Yeah the wheels look well off on offset, and Ditto the nut bot check, thats a right**** thing to have happened, hope you haven't done any Internal damage..

Before you put a new crank pulley on, check what's left of the bolts. With the main one off they normally go lose.

When i get round to ordering and fitting the parts everything will be checked and double checked

The wheels are 15s and the tyres are 195 / 50 R15 and looking into it more i need wheels with 45 profile so will be keeping my eye open for some wheels

The actual crank pulley, timing belt etc is all still in tact and the car runs fine, its just the bolts that hold the alternator pulley on have sheered, guess i was lucky nothing hit the belt and made it slip

I didnt actually look myself but my mate who is a mechanic said the bolts are sheered and the proper way to do it would be to get a new crank pulley and alternator pulley

I dont know if the engine is the square (late) type or round (early) type tooth so will have to go over the next few days and pull the timing belt cover off and have a look, soon as ive done that i will be ordering the parts :)

If the bolts sheared prob wrong tensile ones not 8.8 at minimum
and can you not just drill and remove them rather than take off the crank pully they should drill and thread out easy I would think

As soon as we found out the bolts were sheared I said can it not be drilled but my mate said if I want it done properly it would be best to get new / good parts and replace them but I'm sure if it's done properly and the correct tensile bolts are used it should be fine

Ive had things similar to this done on bikes and I know just the person who would do this, I will go see them soon and see what they think

Thanks :)

Yes ideally take the pully out and do it but that's cam belt messing but if you lower the motor a bit should be able to drill the bolts hit In an easy out and remove them it's only 4 bolts if it's a late one

If i take the pulley off i will just replace it with a new part along with the V belt single pulley, bolts and washers and a new cam belt kit

Only problem i can see with this job is sometimes the crank pulley bolt is a pain to undo but we will cross that bridge when it comes to it

So a quick update :)

I have all the parts to sort the crank pulley problem just not fitted them yet, should be doing it this weekend

I also have a full Spax suspension kit coming so will fit it all at once

And look what arrived in the post a few days ago :thumb:

I will update with more photos very soon :)

It was dry today so i went and put the new wheels on, it looks much better and there shouldnt be any rubbing

I will have to get some full center caps as the nut covers on back dont let me put the small center caps on and one side on the front the driveshaft is to long so wont allow me to fit it correctly

I cant wait till the coilovers arrive and we fit them now :)

Look what arrived a few days ago thanks to a member on here

Im now debating if i should get solid top mounts but theres mixed reviews on these so might stick with the standard spax ones for now

I dont know if we will be fitting the parts this week now as i have a load more bits on the way and would like to do it all in one

Its never ending and im spending every penny on this car haha

I will update again soon :)

Last night we got the car in the workshop and made a start

We realised the new crank pulley i got is the wrong one so pulled the one off the engine and i took it to someone who drilled and tapped it so that will be going back on tonight along with a new pulley bolt, new cam belt, new lightweight V belt pulley with 12.9 tensil bolts to hold this on so we hopefully wont be having this problem again

We also fitted the Gaz suspension kit, new track rods, gaiters, track rod ends, lower ball joints and lower control arms

When we went to start it to move it the other day the starter motor didnt sound to good, it sounded like either the or the ring gear has gone but looking at the ring gear last night it seems ok so hopefully just needs a new starter or get this one reconditioned

I have some RS Turbo spark plugs to fit as it has a slight misfire on idle, hopefully this will solve the problem

Heres a few pics from last night we will be back at it tonight :)
