Hello everyone, needing some advice on what to do here.

Parked my nova outside my girlfriends house last night and come to the car this morning to find that a car has plowed into my passenger door. I need a new door basically and i have no whitnesses to who dunnit.

So i am asking what do i do about getting a new one, whether i claim or just buy one my self im not sure.
Thanks

Buy one and fix it yourself would be the cheapest option in the long run.

If you claim it'll, more than likely, be over their value of the car and therefore write it off (assuming it's a nova with no agreed valuation). This will then be a claim on your insurance affecting it for the next 5 years.

Yep unless you can find and prove who did it and have them pay to repair the damage out of their own pocket. Chances of that are slim to none so unfortunately it's a 'bite the bullet and dig deep' situation.

Well word on the street is the car across from where i parked is damaged and my girlfriend has been nocking on their door no answer. Also iv got silver paint on my car from their silver car. Didnt want to start pointed finger so sudden but it is most likely them. I have got a police ref and they are coming for a visit later but i doubt il gain anything from this.

Well unless the admit it then no I had a similar thing but damage to property fortunate it was on CCTV though

look for glass from there lights if they broke as that's harder to contest than paint but if they don't admit it you will have to take them to small claims

Be warned if you contact your insurance even if you don't claim it may affect your renewal costs

Yes i know if they dont admit to it i cant argue and itnwould go through insurance. Im probably better off looking for a door myself will be cheaper on long run.
