Digi dash colour change guide - worth it?

I am in the process of converting two Astra digital dashes to to run white LED illumination and blue/white backlighting, does anyone else still do this kind of thing? I was wondering if it was worth documenting it.

I remember the kits Dom used to sell to convert them to other colours, I guess you're doing it from scratch?

Yeah Dom used to make them using special clear films and a printer, however the printer used needs special ink which is hard to get and the films are not easy to find either so he gave up years ago. Before he started even doing them I used to manually do it using that rear light cluster spray tint you could buy but then moved onto colour changing films used for photography. Then finally added white LED's for a pure white light.

Get a thread done, it's bound to come in handy still as there's loads of digi dashes left... I still have have a tick and curve type with all the bits needed... Only keeping them as you never know when they come in handy ;)

I might look look into making variants of colour schemes on acetate of these, the machine we have at work should be able to print something okay I reckon, just not sure how much call there would be as you said lol

Looks chavvy, much prefer the original colours. The ones I have seen that have been 'done' always look cheap. Happy to be proven wrong though...

Will I'll aim to lol the machine at my work prints on anything 40mm deep and 3foot wide, about 165k machine lol
