Hi guys.
bought a nova with Bike carbs at the weekend. But would rather it back to standard. Ive put back on the efi unit and the loom. But i cant get no spark.....
Ive plugged in all the connectors. Theres a block connector at the bulk head with 4 wires, red,black,blue/red & green. Theve been cut but there back onto the plug.

The green & 2 black wires are connected & getting 12v at the coil pack. And its a good coil & igntion control module as there off my mates running gsi.

But at the 3 pin dizzy.... Im getting 2.6v at the positive side (1) 5v signal from (2) & a good earth at (3) when i plug in the 3pin plug into the dis, it turns to 0.6v at (1)...... Is this a sign that the diz is defunked? Or possibly the ecu? Before im only getting 2.6v? All earths are good, also ive noticed the fuel pump doesnt prime with igntion? Is this related? Anyone had similar problems?

Thanks stu

Considering the pumps prime on these with the ignition on (so no activity at the coil/plugs) then it points towards an issue with the ECU. Not got a spare you can try?

Well thats the other thing. I have a 15pin ecu. Does this mean its out of a GTE?

Check the fuel relay wd40 clean thermal possably as fault to ecu could put ign of check earths again but it's Just a case of working through

was it running fuel pump on the carbs?

Ecu etc would not matter if it's same loom efi etc

Would the relay stop the voltage to the dis? It has a external pump thats just wired in just now. I can easy change the dizzy & coil & get a spark, but wont run efi. And i dont fancy putting on carbs again. Is there anyone you recommend that could test the ecu?

Even a pin out wiring digram would help greatly! Would rule out all the wiring.

It's All color for color with them only a few wires and all standard ones at that

and yes the relay sends a feed to ecu indercating pump working which it's not so that is possibly it, does it click on off with ignition ?
Was it running on the carbs ?

ahhh bum, you shoulda carried on with the MPI lol

it sounds like the ecu wasnt wired in right ?, or it was immobilized ?, or dead ecu ?, or dead fuel pump ?

I was actually wanting the mpi tbh! But the 40s was screaming at me in the shed! So there on!
