how can I make my 1.4 16v fast I have already put a power box on I was thinking of putting on a high pressure pump and a regulator on it or chipping it. how do I go about chipping it.

Cheapest thing to do is strip the car out to make it faster (some will say go for a big poo).

Also fit an F15cr gearbox and fit a Nova GTE clutch flywheel for decent acceleration up to about 100 - 110mph, not much point in mega top ends IMO unless you travel the motorways a lot.

Chuck a powerbox inlet on amd a flat flywheel. Job done. Cheap and decent gains compared to anything else.

I put 4-1 on my x16xe and its got a 2" straight through system, im yet to put a flat flywheel on it and f15 gearbox

F15 is in a gsi, 5th is more of a cruising gear any way and it is only a 1.4 after all so I wouldn't expect much more than 115 out of it

would the starter motor need to be changed to accommodate the F15 ?

a de-cat pipe gets you a couple donkeys i hear too... although the mot emissions might suffer

I have no cat in it and it went through mot no bother. I've heard that 1.6 injectors give you a bit more jizz. does anyone know anything about remapping them?

How come you chise the 1.4 over the 1.6?

I got the 1.4 for 100 pound and I heard there isn't a lot of difference between the 1.4 and a 1.6

Suppose you cant argue at that, same price I payed for my 1.6 but I did expect a bit more power than ive got tbh but it goes well and handles well and keeps corsas n saxos at bay

You won't get much more now without spending money on engine work tbh, by chipping these it will be just putting more fuel in. Next on your list after a manifold upgrade will need to be ARP bottom end bolts, a set of re-profiled cams from Autosprint would be next after that. http://www.autosprint.co.uk/?p=p_27

then work up to maybe a set of bike carbs, twin 40's or jenveys depending on your budget.
Bear in mind that all the above will need different management to run them.

im thinking of trying a 1.6 fuel pump

if you transferred the powerbox, and whatever else you've got on your 1.4 over to a 1.6... that'll get you an extra 16 horses roughly

Pump wont give you anymore power.

no. the 1.2 pump is not powerful enough. you need the mpi from a corsa/astra/Daewoo, then shorten the suction pipe a little..

ive bought a 1.6 16v fuel pump will that do the job?

I took the who pump and housing from a mk3 astra gsi and it bolted straight in with no problems

Inlet ports are bigger on a 1.6 16v, try a 1.6 lower inlet if you've already got a powerbox.
