Hey guys, bought myself a mk1 merit to tinker with and have secured a set of coilovers, plan is to go low and slow. Not long sold my e46 m3 so really not fussed about handling etc, just want something that will work well with the look I want to achieve.

Wheel size is 6j x15 with an offset of et33 so i'm aware I will either need to do some arch work or even have the wheels machined a tad.

Just seen your post on CS but as I'm banned I cant reply, you need to get a recent picture of it but either way you got a bargain.

I disagree with the low and slow thing, low fast and wide arched this will save you some trouble with offset lol

Don't need fast, have my cbr for that lol.

I have started a project thread on here but it needs approving supposedly.

195/40/15 unless you want a bit of tyre strech

you cant get that profile tyres

I would say 165/50/15 to get away with that offset

I am on 15" 6J. I did need to roll the rear arches but if you take your time and do it well, no-one will see the difference

Tyre wise 195/45/15

Think what I may do is wait until I have the wheels and coilovers, pop a wheel on and then see how it all looks before I decide on what tyre, want a bit of stretch ideally.

Check out my wheels, there 15x6 et49 but have 165/50/15 tyres on, its not a proper strech, but it streches them to finish flush with the wheels and give you a 45 profile, only thing is the rides quite harsh on low budget coilovers..
