hey guys. im planning on running a v6 set of brakes, but wasn't aware the 288 was in 5 stud form only.

I understand that you can either drill the regular 288's to fit the 100 stud pattern (which I'd rather not do personally, for safety reasons)

I also understand that 284 x 22 fiat coupe 2.0 discs fit if you sand the holes a smidge wider (which seems acceptable)

and also that the 2.0 meriva discs @ 280mm go straight on, no sweat, but theres the 8mm under-size im not keen on (it must effect performance a bit, and possibly a safety issue with pad over-hang ?

is there any other options for this ? or reccomendations on which is ok to use ? performance wise and safety.

cheers for any input :thumb:

Drilled discs are fine, had mine at over 100mph to 20 mph hard braking a few times on a track day plus a few thousand road miles too.

280 discs, try 280 pads?

4mm either side is not going to be a great problem over the perfect fit you wont get with the fiats..

I have run drilled disks on my xe never had a problem and drilled right there's plenty of meat left

the clamping is what holds the disk more so than the studs and your also gona need spigot rings for both disks and if possible I get the countersunk location screw re drilled also as makes life so much easier

Or switch to a stud conversion

^ would be the best option I think peg. complete compatability that way. but funds are too low to squeeze it in the budget.

im finding out that creating a track car costs a bloody fortune (even if you do it on the cheap !)

cheers for info tho lads. sussed out whats what now :thumb:

Surely the overhang cleans the edge of the disk too :)
