seeing them screwin fcuk into the fiestas, clios etc and then me overtaking them p*ssin myself and with middle finger extended....then tellin them i woz only in fourth gear (true story)

In my SR I beat a Maserarti (3200GT??) also a Mk3 Golf GTi
They wern't racing, I was....
On the other hand I kept infront of a Vectra SRi up until 50mph

In my Saxo I've only ever beaten other Saxos

And in My Landy I've taken on............... the worst nature has to offer, and only slightly dented the roof.

nailed a 1.0l polo and a 1.3 mk2 golf in my trusty 1.2spi

but those scalps seem insignificant considering the amount of times i have been nailed myself! 1.4 corsa being the worst. was doing 90 and he passed me like i was standing still! had smart women in the car as well............got that fuckers number plate for when i can afford an engine conversion tho! :twisted:

i used to be able to beat Golf GTi's in my 1.4SR :) 8)

my blu-baby (2.0L-8V) has emabarresed loads of fast cars at traffic lights, on dual carriageways & motorways, etc.!! :D 8)

my red-baby (2.0L-8V) has beaten loads of even faster cars & stayed in front of a subaru and in front of a Lotus Elise!! :D 8)

My 1.2 has beaten a standard fiesta, a golf and a renault five. Nothing much but when they are about the same age it shows the nova comes out well...

I kept up with an SR till about 50mph the other day, but that was probly just the tit driving it...! :+:

Come out of paint balling with my mates, the place in northampton has a prison next door to it, anyway theres a massive sort of runway as you come in. I had my trusty nova and my mates both had there 328i sports', all of us had 3 passengers, had 4 races top to bottom, i kicked arse everytime, what felt good was wiping the looks of all those people watching thinknig what the f is a nova gonna do with 2 beemers, anyway beaten plenty of golf gti's, and was surprised with a new vectra.

Guy comes right up my arse flashing, so i floored it, i got some distance between us but because of all the flippin roundabouts in milton keynes, he got ahead coz of the cornering, and breaking power that he had, all i saw on the back of that vectra was v6 and on the front said ircshmer, these are bloody quick vectra's anyone know any more about these, it was a brand new car. on the straights i did get the better of him but abs is better :|

in a straight line, basically nothing, part from a few vans and such, as expected, but on twistys, when i used to drive to me old birds house, i beat lots of things, the focus will never be forgotten, was a 20 minute hard full on cain, dunno wot engine it was as he was always behind, lost him on corners, he gained on straights :( but overall i didnt let the badge down :D

i take it when barney mentiones beating his mates in their clios he woz refering to crap 1.2's cos a 1400 and above will give a SR a good run for its money and usualy the best driver (or driver willing to abuse their car the most!) wins.

dunno wot he's got mate, dun really care 2b honest, prob a 1.2? 1400 is bound 2 giv an SR a run for its ??? as its prob guna b injection, arn't clio's a little heavier (im not 2 sure, anyone know)? Are u on about new clio's or...?

yeh i agree it depends also on how the driver drives. one of my other mates has a 1.9 diesel clio...wot a piece of w*nk, i was having a dabble with him a lil while back (he had his mrs in the car so i had 2 take the p*ss), and i dunno if he was bootin it or wot (he must've been) but i couldn't believe how quick i went past him, i just fcukin flew past him.

*cough* its probably just that im an awesome driver, lol

189mph on a Suzuki Hyabusa @ Bruntingthorpe test track for the bikes release... one guy pushed it to 208mph....

It was also on a highly tuned Suzuki 1300 Hayabusa, i drove 210 mph. It could do more, but i ran out of road :(

yeah barney i woz talkin bout a phase 1 clio. d diesels are a load of crap even wiv a 1.9 engine. clio - 1.4 sr are bout d same but the sr has shorter gear ratios. interestind race me finks. yeah ur racing tecnique must be wot did it cos im sure nobody cd beat a 1.2 clio cd they! :o

the standard 1.2 carbed nova has 55bhp
the standard 1.2 clio has 60 bhp

I've kept up with a Vaux Astra coupe 1.8 16V up to 60mph in my standard 1.4 SR.

As for this Nova SR vs Clio 1.4 thing, I've driven a clio 1.4. They aren't as fast as the SR i dont reckon.

When I had my 1400SR, Nothing in the same league could touch it. Mike Oxford can prove this, even killed RS Turbo's! Clio's, new and old Golf's even GTi's, Cupra 2.0L (The bloke was so pissed off he even stopped and chased me!), Rover 216 GTi, I stayed with a Vectra 2.5 GSi at the lights (He was impressed) corsa's, Micra's :lol: , taxi's, a few Mercs. I used to keep a log of all the cars I used to race...then I started to calm down racing.

It is because the Nova is a very light car. More modern cafs are heavier due to saftey features. Put a 2.0L Turbo in a Nova, and your well into Scooby killing land :lol: he he he! bit light on the back end tho!

It's a mild bright 1st December in Milton Keynes, the day year is 2002.
Several members of novaload have gathered ina car park at Willen Lake to make merryment, banter and look at each other's cars.

It's not long before a sound like thunder rolls across the car park and a white, red and grey vauxhall nova reminiscent of the glory days of the nova racing teams growls its way intoa parking space among the young men.

From the affor mentioned chariot staggers an ancient man who lokos like he should have come on an old persons buggy/kart instead of this finely tuned monster.

Within an hour or so this old man is taking unsuspecting young men around the dual carriageways and roundabouts of milton keynes on joyous rides, the rest of the group seeing his rather distinctive automobile tearing past at speeds (arguably) in excess of the 60mph speed limits, and returning them a few moments later with huge grins on their faces.

Replyin to clio boy, my mate has a limited edition Champs Elysee Clio 1.4 (lowered, alloys etc as standard) and it cant get ne where near an SR, my 1.2 Nova was just as quick. The Sr has more power and is lighter with a closer ratio gear box.
