Mk2 Headlights

Can the glass be removed from the back reflector on Mk2 headlights so that they can be refurbished, if so how please.

Im trying to do this with a mk1 headlamp. I havent had much success yet. I think the idea is to warm the light in an oven to soften the glue and score/cut as much of the glue with a knife as you can before trying to part the glass from the backing.
