Another - what the hell is this for? thread

As I move onto the rear bench area of my project I pulled up the rear seats to find a small bracket protruding upwards under the rear bench:

This is the only one, there isn't another on the other side. The Nova is a 1.2i mk2 base model which originally had a solid rear bench (now been replaced with a GSi 40/60 split)

It looks like a catch for the underneath of the rear bench, the metal frame clips behind it to stop the seat sliding forward.

Oh ok is this for solid rear benches only?? Not the 40/60 splits? The GSi 40/60 split bench has no 'hole' for this annoying bit of metal
