ok i dunno if im being paranoid or what

but ive got a feeling there is summat weird goin on with the cooling system of the new engine

basically i started the engine this morning, reversed out the space and drove back in

after that i was under the bonnet and noticed the head was hot to the touch - now i know its directly linked with the combustion etc but it being hot after 30secs seemed strange

i also noticed that after a 10mins drive the enigne gets soo hot i couldnt hold my hand on the dizzy housing on the cam box

is this normal? or is there some kinda weird goins on here??

thanks

I think the Combustion happens at something around 1200 degrees C. So I'd say it's OK.

Is the Fan, Stat etc operation OK?

Is the engine standard? Tuned ones tend to get a little hotter.
What does the temp guage say? Did you bleed the cooling system properly?

come to think of it i didnt bleed the cooling system at all

just filled it with water and antifreeze and squeezed the big hozes till the water level stopped falling

as long as you were doing it with the cap off thats usually good enuf tbh, ive allways done it that way with no problems
